One of the reasons for my recent lame posting habits has been lack of sleep. It used to be that my sleep habits resembled that of the baby dolls many remember playing with as children. Make the doll horizontal and the eyes close. If you made me horizontal, I'd be out like a light. But not recently.

reflections on one year as a Baha’i
Reflecting on my one year has a Baha'i seems like the appropriate thing to do for my final NaBloPoMo post. It's snowing out on this quiet afternoon, I have a Christmas CD on, and I'm in the mood for writing.
the experience of God?
I must admit that I was a bit nervous about posting that I felt the presence of God while in the Baha'i Temple yesterday. There's the notion of believing in God, but it feels like I'm walking a razor-thin line when I say that I've experienced God. That kind of stuff can get you in trouble. As such, I feel like I need to expound more on this subject.
unexplainable feelings at Nineteen Day Feast
Tonight I went to the Nineteen-Day Feast at the Baha'i Center. Baha'is hold feasts timed with the first day of each nineteen-day month on the Baha'i calendar. Lately, I've been a little more open about my feelings about the Faith, while acknowledging that they are feelings and not necessarily opinions.
NaBloPoMo = sodium blow-pops in missouri?
That's what NaBloPoMo stands for, right? Na is the chemical symbol for sodium, BloPo has to stand for Blow-Pops, and Mo is the abbreviation for Missouri. Sodium blow-pops in Missouri? Well, no.
yes, i unpacked my computer–i’ve just been busy
The problem with helping start a new co-op house is that it gets in the way of blogging. How inconvenient. But I guess it should be good fodder for writing, I think, right? Well, let me try.
slow train comin’ to albuquerque
I've been so busy that I only found time to post an update about the co-op when I boarded a train to Albuquerque on Saturday.
well, i’m here
Packing and unpacking took forever, as they often will, but moving day itself wasn't too bad—four of us guys, one fourteen-foot rental truck, three hours. Not including the pick-up and drop-off of the truck, but still, pretty good. There's a lot to be said for a simpler lifestyle, and there's one big piece of evidence right there.
music to pack by
Tomorrow is the big moving day.
Up until today, I've been laser-beam focused in my preparation for this move. I got a lot done quickly, and I think I'm more organized with this move than ever before. But today is harder. I took off from work today to make final preparations and I must admit that it's a bit harder now than it has been to stay focused.
time capsule 2003
My first bedroom in this co-op house was tiny—maybe 7 x 11 feet, and so I had to make hard decisions as to what keep in there and what I could temporarily part with. I moved out of the room only eight months later, and over the years I have gradually moved to bigger and bigger rooms within the house. But I never went through my stuff in the attic until last week. Going through these possessions was like going through a time capsule from 2003. I knew basically what was up there, but had forgotten about a lot of this stuff.
